Victoriaville Chooses Ozonia
Victoriaville, Quebec – The City of Victoriaville, Quebec in Canada has selected Ozonia to supply two 200 lb./day (3.8 kg/hr.) LOX-fed ozonation systems as part of an overall plant expansion.
Serge Cyr, Environmental Assistant Director for Victoriaville, states, “We selected ozone because it is such a strong oxidizer which can help protect against giardia and cryptosporidium in addition to taste and odor control, and as a disinfection aid.”
The Victoriaville plant is a 10.5 mgd (1,666 m3/h) surface water treatment facility using ozone with biologically activated carbon after chemical oxidation and clarification. The City also plans to introduce a pre-ozonation step in the coming years. Chlorination is used for final disinfection and a protective residual.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Ozonia is a worldwide manufacturer of ozone generation systems and ultraviolet systems.
