Ozonia Selected By Shanghai

Shanghai, China – Ozonia Ltd. (Zurich) has been selected by the City of Shanghai for the supply of a 130 kg/hr (6,860 lbs./day) ozone plant for municipal drinking water treatment. The Shanghai municipal plant will deliver 520,000 M3/day (138 mgd) treated water to the city’s 13 million inhabitants.

The Shanghai Waterworks will be using pre-ozonation for coagulation and flocculation to remove manganese. Pre-ozonation will be followed by post-ozonation for disinfection of virus and bacteria and oxidation of micro pollutants, such as, pesticides.

According to the company, this will be the largest ozone installation in China with a scheduled start up in 2005. Financial details were not disclosed.
